This nationally recognized week highlights Safe Place®, an outreach and prevention program for youth in need of immediate help and safety. As a collaborative community prevention initiative, businesses and organizations serve as designated Safe Place locations where youth can connect to help. There are over 40 Safe Place locations around Philadelphia, PA and they are identified by the black and yellow Safe Place sign. Some of our local chapter’s partner are: ShopRite (Brown’s Family), YMCA (North Philadelphia) and Temple University Police.

Youth Emergency Service manages the Safe Place program in Philadelphia, PA and has helped about 70 young people as a result in 2017 alone. More than 600 of young people are homeless in Philadelphia, PA and it is crucial to educate the public about the dangers young people face when dealing with difficult issues on their own. Teens need to know about Safe Place and Youth Emergency Service’s programs so they know where to turn for help.

This event is open to anyone 21+ who wish to show support for the work Youth Service Inc., (YSI), Youth Emergency Service (YES) & Safe Place do in our community.
