On Tuesday April 3, Angie Maury was honored at the Honoring MLK Jr.’s Drum Major Legacy: Innovative Pathways to Success ceremony at the United States Department of Education Lyndon B. Johnson Building in Washington, D.C. After an nationwide application process, Ms. Maury was one of only twenty people selected by The U.S. Department of Education’s Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and the White House initiative for Educational Excellence for African Americans to receive the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Innovation Service Award at the ceremony.  This award is in recognition of volunteers who perform extraordinary everyday acts of service focusing on innovative approaches to serving students and the community. At the ceremony, Maury received an MLK Jr. Drum Major Service award certificate and a letter from the Office of the Under Secretary. Congratulations Ms. Maury!
