Help YSI youth and families get the school year started on the right foot by ensuring they have all the tools and resources they need for academic success.

As children and families across Philadelphia are preparing for the upcoming school year, which will most likely be hybrid for many of our clients and their children, many issues including no school lunches, parents who have to work etc. begin to arise.

Every year, Youth Service, Inc. holds an annual school drive to ensure the children have all the tools and resources they need for academic success., One example of the many families this drive assists is the Johnson family.

Last year, Ms. Johnson expressed concern around remote learning to her YSI case manager. She was worried about her children’s academic performance because she had a limted income for school supplies and there were multiple school-aged children in the home with no workspace to complete schoolwork/ homework. YSI’s annual Back to School drive was able to to provide desks and school supplies to the family thanks to the generosity of supporters like yourself. The desks helped the student on YSI’s caseload and his siblings in the home to have adequate workspace in the home to complete his assignments and be present for virtual learning.
