On Friday, August 19th YSI will welcome freshman and transfer students from Philadelphia University for a timely group service project. As part of the University’s 17th Annual Community Service PLUNGE! event the students will volunteer their time to sort and organize school supplies donated by the U.S. General Services Administration through their summertime collection drive. In time for the school year, these donations will then be distributed to YSI’s program sites, where staff will get them to the youth and families who need them most.

While sorting supplies, students will also be familiarizing themselves with YSI and the city of Philadelphia, and learning about the importance of becoming engaged and aware citizens during their time at the University. We hope that their experience will encourage them to continue to give back by becoming involved with YSI and the many other valuable nonprofits operating throughout the city.

If you are interested in organizing a group service project, we would love your help! Contact Marketing Coordinator Adam Safer by phone at 215-222-3262 x19 or by email at asafer@ysiphila.org to talk about the project that would be right for your group.
