In the Employee Spotlight we recognize a Youth Service, Inc. employee making an impact in the communities we serve. Robert Tricarico is an Administrative Assistant at YSI’s administrative office.

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background. Do you have any special hobbies or interests you’d like to share?

I have worked with teens and young adults for 5 years. As a former Youth Minister, I am passionate about young people finding their purpose and direction in life. Thriving in life despite the situations that life may throw your way. In my free time, I enjoy Marvel movies and comics, as well as working with media. Social media, photography, cinematography and editing are some things I have helped small businesses establish, helping them succeed in the digital age.

Q: How long have you been working at YSI and in what programs?

I have been at YSI officially for 2 months as the Administrative Assistant at our main administration office. I started by temping here while I was on workers compensation. When an opportunity came to join the YSI staff, I took advantage of it. I was able to see how the organization worked first hand and knew that it would be an amazing to be a part of.

Q: What are some of the biggest challenges faced by you working in this program?

New employee onboarding during the time we live in was difficult. Learning day to day operations during a time where things are anything but normal has been a challenge.

Q: What do you do to overcome these challenges?

The staff has been extremely helpful during this time. They have been able to come along side me, at a distance, to help me acclimate into the work environment and make onboarding as smooth a process as possible.

Q: What is one of your favorite success stories during your time at YSI?

I don’t know that I have been at YSI long enough to have a particular story. It is awesome to see the ins and outs of what it looks like to help our community and those in need every day.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in this program and at YSI?

Being part of something that is bigger than myself. One of my favorite quotes is by Max Lucado. “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.” YSI puts that into action. One person may not be able to impact everyone, but if we come together and work together, we can make a difference.
