A young father living in North Philadelphia with his girlfriend needed childcare assistance for his two-year old son due to both parents working from home during the pandemic.

Even with both incomes it was difficult for the young family to afford childcare. Through reseach they found Youth Service, Inc.’s Baring House Crisis Nursery program. After a meeting with the staff, they began sending their son to Baring House as a way to help with the transition into attending an early childcare program, since he never went before.

Thanks to the support of the Baring House program and its staff, the young family were able to focus on work, as well as relocating due to a lead paint emergency, and know that their son was safe, cared for, and learning to socialize with peers.
