Columbia North YMCA’s Executive Director, Claine Crew with Youth Emergency Services Director, Tim Massaquoi
As a partner agency with National Safe Place, Youth Emergency Service held a ribbon cutting at one of the newest additions to the Safe Place network, the YMCA at Broad and Master Streets.
The ribbon cutting was one in a series of events during National Safe Place week designed to raise the awareness of the problem of youth homelessness and the resources available to help. Safe Place offers youth in perilous and unstable housing situations a connection to safety and resources. The YMCA joins other community locations, identified by the black and yellow signs, where trained volunteers link youth in need to YES. YES collaborates with other youth serving agencies to connect those in need to resources.
If you know of a youth in need call 1-800-371-SAFE.
