Through the City of Philadelphia’s commitment to address the young adult homeless issue, the position of the Community Navigator was created.  The idea originated with a team of formerly homeless young adults who came together to create holistic solutions. Working in concert with Philadelphia’s Office of Homeless Services, Valley Youth House Synergy Project outreach team and Covenant House, the Community Navigator program connects young adults, ages 18-24, many of whom have aged out of foster care, with vital resources such as shelter, employment, counseling, housing and coaching along with links to resources based on individual need.

The Community Navigator office is located at YSI’s headquarters in West Philadelphia.
