The ladies of the Baring House & Sally Watson, truly felt cared about and appreciated as they spent the evening working through the areas of grief and stress in their life and how it impacts their professional self. The staff realized that several of their coworkers mask the heartache, pain, suffering, and shame they carry once they get to work.
The tissue box was very busy from all the tears shedded throughout the evening. It felt good as a supervisor to see how emotionally supportive the staff were to one another and how unaware they were of the grief and stress that many of them were carring.
Following the workshop, some of the staff wanted to volunteer their time to help provide childcare to their coworkers, just to give them a respite.
It was very rewarding to come to work today and see staff greeting each other with hugs and checking in with each other.
