Youth Service, Inc. will be hosting our annual Back to School event on Friday August 16 from 10 am to 2 pm at our Crittenton location, 6325 Burbridge Street Philadelphia, PA 19144. On this day, we provide families and their children with uniforms, school supplies, and a day of fun and games. Our goal is to help families and their children get the school year started on the right foot by ensuring they have all the tools and resources they need for academic success.
Activities for the day include free food, music, face painting, arts and crafts, bean bag toss, sidewalk chalk art, giveaways, and much more! Our case managers will also provide families that are unable to attend our Back To School event with school supplies and uniforms.
The Back to School event is important because we’ve realized that many of the families we serve are reluctant to ask for help. By having this event, we ensure children are prepared for the new school year.
Would you consider making a financial contribution or in-kind donation in support of our annual Back to School event?
$5 allows us to purchase notebooks, loose leaf paper, a pack of index cards, pens, scissors, or a calculator.
$10 allows us to purchase a pack of binders (4 count), a box of folders (25 count), or a pack of erasers (36 count).
$25 allows us to purchase a pack of 1 GB Flash Drives (10 count), a bookbag, and an assortment of other need school supplies.
If you prefer to make an in kind donation, we are also in need of the following supplies: Markers, Crayons, Color Pencils, #2 Pencils, Handheld Pencil Sharpeners, 12 inch rules, Scotch Tape, Pencil Cases, Highlighters, Glue Sticks and Erasers.

We will also be collecting school supplies which can be dropped off during regular business hours at the address listed above. You can also purchase school supplies online via our Amazon Charity List and have them delivered right to YSI’s offices.
